THE POOR / SCREAMING JETS
Astor Theatre, Perth, Sat 18 May 2019
The Poor
The Poor exploded on stage at the Astor and showed they are a full force Rock N Roll Love Machine.
Energetic stage presence with Skennie switching from solo vocals to power crutching rhythm guitar to give extra audio penetration the band sound has lost none of impetus since igniting on the Aussie music scene in early nineties.
A new song among may have been aired. It’s title was lost amongst the classics such as “Dirty Money”, Man of War”, “Poison”, “Hair of the Dog” and “Liar”.
New boy Daniel Cox on lead guitar cut a swath through the set with his lighting hot breaks.
Final song was a ball tearing rendition of the much loved “More Wine Waiter Please”.
A Dirty Thirty indeed.
Screaming Jets
Like your favourite mad uncle Dave Glesson greeted the gathering at the Astor, Perth with a fiery gleam in his eye.
With a stellar 30 year history behind them and accumulating some hard rock gems along the way the Screaming Jets put in a stellar performance that was top class.
Special kudos to Scott Kingman on producing the continuously moving “Dirty Thirty” backdrop.
